Gaferut is a small 28 acre island in the State of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia, 60 miles northeast of Faraulep in the Caroline Islands in the Pacific Ocean. The island is approximately 1,500 feet long and 500 feet wide. A crescent shaped reef extends out about 500 to 750 feet beyond the island and it is exposed during low tide. The island is located at 9 degrees 14 minutes North and 145 degrees, 43 minutes East.
